Theme:
Fellowship with God
Sub theme: The natural, Spiritual and Carnal Man distinction.
Main text: 1Corintians 2:14
14 But the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God. For they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them because they are spiritually descerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul analyzes three categories of people.
The natural, spiritual and Carnal Man.
1👉 The natural man means someone who completely has no connection with God as it was lost in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3. In simple terms, she or he hasn't given his/her life to Jesus as their saviour. According to Apostle Paul, things of God are foolishness to them. They are full of themselves. I mean they are in charge of themselves (Pride). God has no position in their hearts.
" You need to NOTE that all of us were once natural before we confessed Jesus as our Lord and savior. "
2👉 Spiritual man. This points to someone who received Jesus Christ as savior and ultimately surrenders to Him. She/he is guided by Holy spirit. They cease to depend on themselves but entirely give it all to God. They are able to descern by themselves.
This is what is expected of all the children of God. We should allow Holy spirit to control our selves.
3👉 Carnal Man. This points to someone who received Christ but still controlled by the world standards. A carnal man shows no sign of spiritual maturity.
They're full of jealousy, hate, spirits of revenge, quarrelsome among other things. 1corinthian 3:1-3.
In conclusion, let us check ourselves well. If you are still a natural man, it's high time you confessed Jesus as your Lord and savior. If spiritual, continue to do things which harmonize your relationship with God. If you are still Carnal, it's better to prayerfully make every effort possible to experience the spiritual growth. Let's the Lord back to His throne for fellowship in order to soar on wings like eagles.
