Let's differentiate; A call, Gift and Talent
The three seem to be misunderstood and miss used. So I feel convicted to throw some light about them, may be it could be of help to someone who is reading now.
👉A *call* in simple terms points to a special invitation by God for a specific task in His Kingdom (Romans 8:29-30).
You need to know that God chose to call *you* among millions of people through Salvation just as He had chosen Israel by choice! You also need to NOTE that
When Jesus demonstrated it by calling the 12 desciples, He assigned them for specific tasks. Find out your task in the Kingdom staff. Mine might be different from yours. Or it might be the same but done in a different way!
👉A *gift.* refers to extra-ordinary power given by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of serving God. Every child of God was given a gift as Holy Spirit wishes. This is recorded by Paul in 1Corinthians 12, Romans 12 and Ephesians 4:11. However there no more important gifts than others and we don't need to pay for them. They are equally important and no need to pay for them apart from a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
👉A talent on the other hand means a natural ability to do something without the acquired skills. It can be mental (creativity and artistic) or Physical like Athletic. We're born with our talents and even the unbelievers have talents but not gifts. For instance Obama has a talent of Eloquence but it doesn't mean he is an Evagelist and there are very many talented singers but not worshipers.
👉In conclusion we can fulfill our calling with both our talents and gifts just. Peter was made a Fisher of men with the natural skill of fishing. A talent put a gift is of an added advantage. Don't get contented with only a talent!
